5 Easy to Do Hair Care Tips for a Healthy Head of Hair

Taking care of your hair is relatively simple if you follow the right techniques. Our hair contains protein, so it’s up to you to maintain a healthy diet. Good hygiene is essential for maintaining your beautiful hair. In addition to this, here are some easy-to-do haircare tips for a healthy head of hair, which you can apply at home to keep your hair looking beautiful all year round.

Wash your hair carefully using a good quality shampoo.

Be sure to wash your hair thoroughly using a good quality shampoo. Make sure you rinse all of the shampoo and conditioner out, if not it can leave your hair feeling sticky and hard to brush.

However, washing your hair too often dries it out and deprives it of the natural oils it needs to be healthy. So do not wash your hair every day. Some people only wash their hair twice a week to keep their hair looking healthier.

Try using shampoos that do not contain parabens or sulfates

Parabens– are preservatives that cause irritation and eye problems after prolonged use.

Sulfates-are the compounds that make foam.

These chemicals are not suitable for you or the environment, so try using products with natural cleaning agents.

Choose a shampoo for your hair type.

Do not choose any shampoo at random; choose the one which suits your hair type the best!

Curly or frizzy hair may need a smoothing and anti-frizz shampoo. Smooth or oily hair needs a mild shampoo designed for everyday use.

Colored or permed hair needs a shampoo enriched with amino acids and minerals to repair them.

Dry hair needs a shampoo with glycerin and collagen to help moisturize.

Use a conditioner or leave-in conditioner depending on your hair type, length, and condition.

A common rule is to make a conditioner for each shampoo, but very damaged or colored hair may require more attention and care.

Take care once a week. Use a store-bought product, or try using a homemade recipe.

5 Easy-to-do Haircare tips for a Healthy Head of Hair

Follow these hair tips to take care of your hair according to their type:

  • Curly or frizzy hair will need a frizz-minimizing shampoo that has its natural oils in it is best.
  • Straight or oily hair will need a gentle shampoo for daily washing may even say for oily hair.
  • Coloured or treated hair needs a shampoo that says it is fortified with extracts and amino acids because treating and coloring your hair is damaging it.
  • Dry hair will need shampoos with glycerin and collagen to fix dryness and helps to restore some of the moisture into your hair.

DO NOT USE to much protein:

Using too much protein can leave your hair feeling dry and easy to break. Although protein is the building block of healthy hair, it is always best to leave the measuring to the big guy and just use a conditioner that comes with protein as an ingredient.

Find a conditioner that works with your hair type and with treatment damage if needed:

Its good to get in the habit of using a conditioner every time, after, you shampoo your hair, although very processed or colored hair might need a little more attention than fine hair.

  • Deep conditioning once a week is a must. If you have frizzy or hard to manage hair, using a deep conditioner every time you wash your hair will make a world of difference. Deep conditioning is good for your hair. It keeps your hair healthy and moisturized. Rinse off hair as directed on package.

Condition hair properly based on hair type:

For fine or limp hair: If your hair is fine or limp, try using a botanical oil treatment before shampooing. Lavender or tea tree oil, is perfect for this, and you just work it in your scalp before shampooing. Rinse all shampoo out before applying conditioner. Do not put conditioner directly onto the scalp and roots. Its good to start about down by your ears.

  • For medium to thick hair, it is good to use a moisturizer that includes natural hydration. Apply conditioner and let stay for 2-3 minutes. If your hair is thicker or damaged, keep it on for about 10-15 minutes before rinsing out, or you can use a leave-in conditioner.

Rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar at least once a month:

Doing this will help keep your hair looking healthier and give it more of a shine plus, it helps to clear up dandruff.

Use 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar to 2 cups lukewarm water, then rinse and wash your hair as normal.

 Moisturize your hair:

These five oils are best when it comes to moisturizing: almond, castor, olive, coconut, and lavender oils. Mix equal proportions of each. Apply on to your hair and leave for about four hours before showering out. You can repeat it twice a week.

  • Detangler spray will help with knots so you don’t pull your hair out while trying to comb through it.
  • If you use heat such as a hairdryer or straightener, make sure you use a protective spray before putting heat to your hair.
  • Sleeping with wet or damp hair weakens the follicles and make your hair brittle. Air dry or blow dry on low heat at the roots before laying down to bed.
  •  People tend to overdo things sometimes and shampoo is one of the things. Depending on hair length, you only need about a quarter-sized dollop.
  • Taking a biotin supplement daily can help strengthen your hair and nails.
  • Use warm or even cool if you can stand it because hot water can damage your hair.
  • Frequent blow-drying, or use of other heat products, can stress your hair.
  • When rinsing your hair use cold water after you finish shampooing and conditioning to make it shine if you can stand the cold if not make it as cool as you can take.
  • When towel drying, pat don’t rub the hair forcefully. This leads to split ends. Try using a microfiber towel they are better for pulling the moisture out of wet hair.
  • Don’t tie your hair up too tightly, as this can cause breakage and hair loss.
  • Argan oil is good for preventing split ends and makes hair shiny.
  • You can also use egg white mixed with some sort of oil on your hair and it will leave it shiny and silky.
